TC floating plug

Tungsten Carbide Floating Plug is a core accessory used in conjunction with the tube drawing die in the copper tube drawing process. It achieves self-positioning through the dynamic balance of frictional force and deformation reaction force, and is mainly used to control the inner diameter size of the copper tube.

Core Function
Cooperation with the tube drawing die: The floating mandrel has no fixed position inside the copper tube. It achieves balance through friction and the reactive force when the copper tube deforms, thereby controlling the inner diameter size; the tube drawing die controls the outer diameter size.

Length advantage: The use of a floating mandrel enables continuous drawing of copper tubes at the kilometer level.
Materials and Structure
Materials: Hard alloys (such as grades YG6, YG8, etc.) are typically used, which feature high hardness, wear resistance, and tensile strength.

Structure: The traditional type has two ends of different sizes (the larger end for guidance and the smaller end for size control), while the new type features a double-ended floating core with both ends being small.
